A Rose for Rosa...a holocaust survivor.

It was an honor and great pleasure to meet Rosa about four years ago in Arkansas where I live. She was so warm and genuine, and I've never forgotten those eyes that were streaming tears when we locked in a tight embrace. I'll never forget Rosa, have often thought of her and really would love to see her again.

Rosa was deported to Auschwitz from Romania. Because she was separated from the rest of her family upon arrival, she survived “selection” that sent the others directly to the gas chamber. Rosa was later shipped to Dachau and other camps until liberated by the U.S. 4th Army near Munich.
