Awesome Day!

Hello, I'm so excited today!! I feel such a closeness to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and to get the email this morning from my publisher that I am the featured author with a photo of the man himself, with the caption "I Have a Dream," was phenomenal. In 1968, Dr. King was killed on my birthday. Today is an awesome day for me. I am reveling in the celebrations that mean so much to me.

Cara, a shy young, rich girl doesn’t have friends, so she spends most of her time lying in the meadows counting butterflies and smelling the sweet aroma of the beautiful wild flowers.  Daydreaming about the ocean that she loves and misses, the peacefulness and serenity of being out there, the explicit aromatic fragrance of it dances in her head. Cara hasn’t been to the ocean since her father died two years before, and she craves it. When her mom, Elaine, surprises her with a trip to the sea, she is overjoyed.

Tranquility and quietness quickly turns into a suspenseful and nerve-shattering ordeal at sea. The fierce uproar ahead of them is mind boggling. Cara and Elaine move closer to get a better look. This shocking and horrific discovery transforms Cara’s life forever. This adventuresome experience of a daring rescue at sea is sure to delight all ages.

My First Liebster Award

Five things about me:

1. I don't meet strangers. I am a people person

2. I love to travel, but don't like flying. Flew into St. Maarten (6 hr flight) too much for me.

3. I am a music lover and love to sing. Singing was my first love, not writing.

4. I met the Temptations, and met Cameo and Celine Dion before they became famous.

5. I wanted to join the Peace Corps after high school.

Arkansas Pen Women Meeting-Little Rock, AR

Peggy Vining, you are a phenomenal lady! I was so honored when you called and asked me to speak at your meeting. Could this be real, I thought, the Poet Laureate of Arkansas calling to ask me to be the guest speaker at an event? I enjoyed every minute. This day, 11-2-11, I'll always remember, for it was my first formal speaking engagement.

Print Copies!

I'm flying high now! My first book is now in print! I'm doing book signings, receiving invitations to events and enjoying every minute.

Finally a published author!!!

June 12 and June 14 were great days for me. My first book was released for publication and went on Amazon for Kindle following it's release. Soon it'll be at Barnes & Nobles for the Nook and in print very soon. I'm so thrilled and so very pleased and grateful to my publisher for everything. It feels great!!

New illustrations--yippee!!!

I got some of the new illustrations for my book, and I love them!!! The cover will change also.

Ozark Creative Writer's Conference

This was my first trip, and I thoroughly enjoyed this conference. I met so many wonderful, exciting people. Thank you Judy for inviting me. I entered a few of the contests and received an honorable mention for one of my poems. It was my first win, and I am honored to have received it. My poetry writing must be improving!
